Arsenal News: RVP spotted at Barca hotel after Wigan loss

| April 18, 2012 | 5 Comments

As reported by The Daily Mail Arsenal captain and talisman Robin van Persie was spotted visiting the Barcelona team hotel following the shock loss to Wigan Athlethic on Monday.

Much can be made over the visit to Barca, but among other things the Gunner’s captain was seen talking to international team-mate Ibrahim Afellay and most probably caught-up with ex team-mate Cesc Fabregas.

As always the media have hyped things up to extreme proportions saying that this visit could spell the end of Van Persie’s stay at the Emirates as he gets friendly with the Barcelona camp.

The Dutchman has only just over a year remaining on his contract at Arsenal with Van Persie also stating he will not negotiate a further deal until the end of the season.

Among the interested parties it is reported Manchester City and Barcelona are top contenders, but Arsenal have already started to try and persuade Van Persie to stay through reportedly already signing world-class forward Lukas Podolski and may yet perhaps sign one or two further additions in the summer to show their ambition.

What do you make of the visit? Is it something that Arsenal should be worried about? Or do you think the Dutchman was just catchin up with old friends? Feel free to leave a comment below!

Not sure what to make of it as whatever rvp does from now to the summer is going to be made into a sign that he’s ‘definitly’ leaving.

Well, it has never been a crime to pay someone or a friend a visit. Robin Van Persie has a home and his beautiful and current home is Arsenal.
