Arsenal News: Bendtner reveals desire for ‘new challenge’ away from the Emirates

| May 12, 2012 | 10 Comments

Arsenal loanee Nicklas Bendtner has strongly suggested that a return to the Emirates is not on the cards saying that he ready for a ‘new challenge’ at another club.

Bendtner was strongly linked with a permanent move away from the Emirates last summer, but potential suitors seemed few and far between with the big Dane resorting to a temporary move to Sunderland instead.

With the Black Cats Bendtner has had a respectable season scoring 8 goals and providing 6 assists from 28 starting appearances, although reports suggest that a permanent move to the Stadium of Light is doubtful.

Bendtner said to Danish football magazine Tipsbladet on his future:

I am ready for new challenges. I have heard about concrete interest from other clubs, who sound interesting, but I can’t say more than that right now.

After all, I am still under contract with Arsenal, so I have to get back to Arsenal and talk to them first.

On the specific matter of staying with Arsenal, I have to say I need something new to happen for me. There is no panic thinking about my future. Now, it’s all about Euro 2012 for Denmark and afterwards I can look at my club future.

Personally speaking, I would have preferred to have Bendtner in the Arsenal squad this season ahead of the likes of Marouane Chamakh and Park Chu-Young. He definitely would have been a more useful player for Arsene Wenger.

But in saying this, the big Dane also has big head and seemed to rate himself much higher than a bit-part player at Arsenal, which in the end lead to his departure from the Emirates.

What do you guys think of Bendtner? Obviously he won’t really be missed from here on out, but do you think he could have made a difference if he stayed at Arsenal this season? he is a good lad at times and his run with the danish national team has shown that he xan be sublime in a certain pattern of team play. i wish him luck somewhereelse and hope wenger feels the same way about the whole thing. same goes to chamahk and park

i suggest we give him another chance as arsen refused sign more players and not as if bentner is not good but partern of playing affect him seriously 4 3 3 there is no how he play him ahead of rvp.
No matter how bad nicklas is i still prefer him to chamack or wenger so called park which he only advert.

For me its simple either keep all 4 strikers bendtner chamakh par and vela or sell them all for the bezt price. i think the 4 are worth about 20m. for that amount we could pick up huntelaar hoilett rodellaga farfan. im not saying we need all 4 but i reckon all 4 would come. also i see kirkland and diame are leaving wigan now there is a couple of good replacements for almunia and denilson and both are on frees. this summer will see the most free transfers in the history of the game so far. it is wise to.see who is available and explains why it is hard to sell players. i mean i know they are knocking on but when raul and del piero and nesta are all available on frees why would u want to pay for park and bendtner and squillaci?

The problem with Bendtner is he sees himself far more a better player than he really is. He is better than chamahk and Park, that is for sure but if i have a word for him, i’d say that he is not there yet. He should concentrate on the development of his game. Arsenal football club in my opinion is the right place for him.
