Arsenal Rumours: Hammers Chief son – “No bid for Diame”

| February 1, 2013 | 1 Comment

Reported Arsenal target Mohomed Diame looks like he may stay put at West Ham this season despite having a cheap release clause of £3.5million.

Rumours started to heat up that ‘an unnamed club’ had launched a bid for the combative midfielder, however West Ham’s owner’s son has revealed that there have in fact been no official approaches from the Premier League clubs interested in signing the Senegal international. David Sullivan tweeted:

@jsullivanwhu: “Contrary to reports there has been no bid for Diame today from anybody”

The reported ‘unnamed club’ was apparently Tottenham Hotspur according to the Daily Mail, however it remains to be seen if any speculation will result in a move for Diame.

The Gunners badly need a strong, powerful midfielder that can shield the defence which they have failed to strengthen since the departure of Alex Song over the summer.
