The Gunners travel for the second consecutive Premier League fixture after a battling performance against the Hammers, this time they travel to Norwich to face a struggling side that is currently placed second to bottom with only 3 points and zero wins.
You will naturally expect a big scoring affair as there has been a total of 24 goals scored in the last five Premier League meetings between Norwich and Arsenal, and the Canaries have conceded an average of 2.43 goals per match this season. To make matters worse for Chris Houghton’s side, they have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games (W1 D4 L7). But it will not be a straight forward affair for the Gunners who are to be without Gibbs and Theo Walcott due to injury, and Norwich will be out to test Arsenal’s set piece resistance.
But at the moment Arsenal’s form is solid, especially their away form as the Gunners have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League away games (W7 D4 L1). The Gunners have won five and lost none of their last 12 trips to Carrow Road in all competitions so they can be backed with sensible odds of 8/15 (1.53) to win on Saturday.
A draw seems unlikely but as they have been equal on seven of their last 12 meetings at Norwich and most of the Arsenal squad have been away for international duty, a draw is still possible and can be backed at 16/5 (4.20).
Norwich’s form is considerably worse than the Gunners, they have failed to win a game this season and have only managed three draws from the first seven matches. Norwich are paying 5/1 (6.00) to cause an upset.
The Canaries have conceded the most goals from outside the box this season, and guess whose scored the most goals from outside of the box in the top 5 European leagues since Aug 2011? Santi Cazorla with 9 efforts hitting the net, he can be backed to score anytime at 13/8 (2.62) or 13/2 (7.50) to score first.
Norwich have averaged 15 attempts for every goal they have scored this season (excluding blocked shots), the least efficient conversion rate in the top flight, a very good reason to expect a clean sheet!
