Arsenal star Jack Wilshere is set to step his recovery to full-fitness in a friendly match that has been arranged tomorrow with the Chelsea under-21 team according to The Sun.
We all know that the young Englishman has been a long-term absentee after suffering multiple complications which started in pre-season of the 2011/12 season, injuries that resulted in him being out of action for approximately 16 months.
As of late though, Wilshere has so far managed a successful start on the comeback trail putting in decent shifts for the under-21 team against both West Brom and Reading, playing for 63 minutes and 74 minutes respectively.
While there is no doubt Wenger will want the Englishman back in the first-team as soon as possible it is imperative that he makes sure that the youngster is fully fit before selecting him for the the first-team.
This fixture, coupled with a few more under-21 matches and a potential cameo in the Champions League in coming weeks should provide the necessary preparation needed for Wilshere to take the step up to the Premier League.
With Diaby looking as though he will remain injury prone, Wilshere will be able to provide the depth needed in midfield for Wenger to implement necessary rotation that will benefit both players, as well as giving more options in terms of tactics. Wilshere coupled with Cazorla and Arteta is definitely is a mouth-watering prospect!
